PAYMENT: May be done online via AES or buy mail. ONE CHECK PER TEAM please. Teams will not be accepted into the event without payment. Entry fee checks will not be cashed until team is accepted. Should a team not be accepted the entry fee check will be shredded. A so surcharge of $100 will be added to any teams that pay after the deadline.

REFUND POLICY: A full refund will be given with written notice to MAPL YORK [ attn: Sindee)  if received by December 15.  There will be no refunds for withdrawn or dropped teams after this date.  


MAPL YORK is NOT an open entry tournament where team acceptance is done on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, acceptance criteria is based on team performance relative to strength of field and rests strongly on performance history and strength of a teams' competition schedule.


The majority of the tournament field (80-90%) will be accepted prior to the Christmas holiday to allow teams to plan travel, etc. The final acceptances and complete tournament field will be set after MLK, Jr. weekend events have been concluded. Teams wishing to be considered for first round acceptances must have registered, completed the pre-participation survey and submitted payment by December 15th, 2023.


MAPL events have three (3) mixed age-level divisions* to allow for excellent inter-regional competition.

  • BLACK division: 16*-18 Girls

  • BLUE division: 14-16 Girls

  • RED division: 13-14 Girls

DIVISION PLACEMENT: It is typical that less than ten 16s teams play in the BLACK division and less than ten 14s teams play in the BLUE division. Initial acceptances for all 14s teams will be in the RED division and all 16s teams will be in the BLUE division regardless of which division the team initially registered for. Once the field is set the MAPL Competition Committee will review team performance to date to determine which 14s teams will play in the BLUE division and which 16s teams will play in the BLACK division.

*Age divisions refer to USA Volleyball age designations. 

**Only select 16s and 14s teams [usually 8-10 total per division] will be placed in the Black division and Blue division respectively. Placement in the 'higher' division is based on team performance as assessed by the MAPL Competition Committee. Teams are encouraged to register for the division of preference based on the age levels above but read below to see how we handle acceptance, division placement, and seeding.

Thre will not be any waivers of any kind accepted at this event. Please make sure you Club Code is linked to your team. This is the way to track your results. 

All coaches must have completed the USA Safe Sport and a JVA background check. 


FORMAT: This event is power-pooled to set up competitive matches throughout the event for all teams.

SEEDING: Seeding will rely primarily on results as found in AES. It is each team's responsibility to maintain their results in AES for seeding purposes.

ROSTERS: You are able to enter the event and be accepted without a roster in AES, but roster deadlines are set due in January to ensure coaches, club directors, and the team representative receive important tournament updates via the AES mailing center.

Each team must bring a printed Team roster to check in (information will come in a follow up email). 


  1. Teams will not be considered for entry until payment is received by Jan. 15, 2024

  2. Please make sure to enter all results into AES for entry consideration and seeding. It is each teams responsibility to maintain results. 

  3. Teams are permitted to register for the event without rosters. However, in order to ensure that coaches, team representatives, etc. receive vital tournament information via AES email it is imperative that rosters be loaded into AES as soon as possible.

  4. Rosters deadlines is: March 22, 2024

  5. Teams that are not accepted into the tournament may remain on a waiting list - checks will not be cashed for teams that are not accepted into the event.
